Tollywood stands against Rajinikanth and Shankar

Tollywood is going furious over Rajinikanth – Shankar’s 2 point 0 for changing the release date to April 27th, the date which has already been occupied by two biggies Bharath Ane Nenu and Naa Peru Surya – Naa Illu India.

Producer Bunny Vaas, who is investing into the Allu Arjun starrer released a warning for the Robo sequel makers that he would not hesitate to go to producer council and exhibitors council in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana on this issue. He added that he has been in talks with DVV Danayya for an understanding between them but cannot tolerate other language cinema harming Telugu films.

DVV Entertainments also released an official statement over the issue. “Tollywood has always respected and embraced other language cinema. But a bigger project like Robo 2.0 changing their release dates has caused confusion among producers. All the Telugu movie producers who are releasing in the months of Apr and May are in discussions to avoid any competition among ourselves. However this sudden announcement by ROBO 2 team to release in the month of April has left all the Telugu releases to further confusion. At this juncture we request the trade bodies to take a conscious call and arrive at an amicable solution” the statement reads.

Will Mahesh Babu and Allu Arjun come forward and extend their support to the producers? Will Rajinikanth and Shankar act flexible on this issue since Telugu states are combinedly a huge market for the science fiction.
