Official: India facing Ban in WC

It’s official now. Team India is going to face Bangladesh (Ban) in the quarter-finals of the ICC World Cup 2015 on March 19 (Thursday) at Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).

Today New Zealand recorded their sixth successive win at the 2015 as they beat Bangladesh by three wickets. Bangladesh lost their final league match New Zealand and ended in fourth spot. Now India, the toppers of Pool B, will play the fourth-placed team – Bangladesh.

The Black Caps chased down 289 to beat Bangladesh by three wickets with seven balls to spare in Hamilton.India, New Zealand, Australia, South Africa, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh have progressed to the knockouts. Pakistan, West Indies and Ireland are fighting for the 2 spots remaining.

The Kiwis, who have lost six World Cup semi-finals, will face either Pakistan, Ireland or West Indies in the quarter-finals in Wellington on Saturday, 21 March. The other three quarter-final match-ups are yet to be confirmed and will be known on Sunday (March 15). Meanwhile India will be playing its final group league match tomorrow against Zimbabwe in Auckland
