Newzealand had entered the Semi Finals of the ongoing Cricket World Cup by beating West Indies comprehensively. They will be playing South Africa in the Semi Finals at Auckland. Martin Guptil slammed a double century becoming the fifth batsman in the history of the game to cross the 200 mark in ODIs. Kiwi skipper Brendon McCullum had won the toss and elected to bat. Martin Guptill slammed an unbeaten 237 to help his team post 393 for the loss of 6 wickets in 50 overs. The West Indies started their chase in a good manner but they lost their way after opener Chris Gayle got out. Gayle blasted 61 off 33 balls . The Caribbeans were skittled out for 250 by the Kiwis in 30.3 overs. Trent Boult took 4 wickets for 44 runs. Guptill’s innings, compiled from 163 balls and including 11 sixes and 24 fours, was the highest by an individual in a World Cup match, beating Chris Gayle’s 215 against Zimbabwe on 24 February. It was the second-highest in all one-day internationals after Rohit Sharma’s 264 for India in November last year.Newzealand is the only team after India to stay unbeaten in the tournament. They have won all the seven league matches and the quarter finals to reach here.
