First Indian cricketer to hit second double century

India batsman Rohit Sharma has made history by becoming the first player in one-day international history to score two double centuries during the ODI clash with Sri Lanka. Rohit smashed 264 off 173 balls where he hits 33 fours and 9 huge sixes.In the 46th over of the innings,

Rohit reached his first half-century off 71 balls and began to shift gears from thereon. Rohit raced away to a run-a-ball century and then belted Sri Lankan bowlers all around the Eden Gardens to reach his 200 in the 46th over. Rohit hit a four off Kulasekara to reach his double century.

Rohit’s ruthlessness was in full display as the last 150 runs of his knock came from just 79 balls. He falls off the last delivery of the innings, hitting a full toss straight into the hands of the fielder at long-off.

This is second double century for Rohit.His first one day double century with runs of 209 came against Australia in Bangalore on November 3, 2013. In the early stage, he survived with a dropping catch, when he was on 4 and capitalized well to make his way into the record books.
